What I Wore at Disney!
A ton of you have been asking me about this post so I am super excited to let you know that it's FINALLY HERE! I went to Disney in January but have been working constantly since I got back, so I'm super sorry to have kept you guys waiting an entire month. I promise it's worth it though :)
For those of you that didn't catch my first "Disney Outfits" post on my old blog MudAndMuscles.com (RIP old blog), I'll give you a quick lil summary! I'm totally obsessed with Disney and more specifically Disney Princesses, so whenever I am fortunate enough to go to Disney World in Florida I go ALL IN. A few weeks before the trip I decide which Princesses I want to be and I plan my outfits around them- it's the best time of year for my inner ten year old.
I made lots of different ears this year and had a blast wearing my Disney inspired outfits all week, so check it out below and let me know what you think of this year's picks!
Park: Magic Kingdom
Okay so I usually try to keep my outfits somewhat subtle as I don't want to look like a complete maniac, so this was a pretty simple outfit. I wore white Chuck Taylor's because they're more practical than glass slippers, and I paired them with white skinny jeans from American Eagle (I swear they have the comfiest pants for my fellow homies with muscular quads). It was pretty warm while we were there so I opted for a super light and comfy tee (also from AE, available in different colors here) in light blue to match Cinderella's gown.
I've been super into mini backpacks lately, so I went with this baby blue backpack from Forever 21. I totally recommend a small backpack for Disney because it makes it super easy to carry your belongings around without being a huge pain in the bootay.
THE EARS! Always my favorite part. I made these Cinderella ears with silver sequined fabric and the classic princess-blue ribbon, and then awkwardly bought a Barbie doll from Walmart so that I could hot glue one of the shoes to the middle. Seriously, there is a barbie doll with one shoe on just casually sitting on my work desk.
Princess: Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)
Park: Animal Kingdom
Day 2 rocking the white pants and white shoes combo, this is partly because white looks good with pink and partly because these pants felt like leggings and the shoes felt like slippers (ie mad comfy ensemble). I wore a pink patterned tank from Lilly Pulitzer to match the pink in Aurora's dress, and I paired it with this super comfy flowy cardigan because 1) it was a little colder on this day and 2) the flowiness of the cardigan is an ode to the flowiness of Sleeping Beauty's dress. And that, my friends, is called attention to detail.
Ps Is flowiness a word? Spell check is telling me it's not but eh?
These were by far my favorite ears to create because THEY'RE SO PINK. I made the base of the ears using fabric and white stuffing, and then hot glued a bunch of pink flowers to give them that cool summery effect. I went with a simple white bow and made a small gold crown for the center.
If this bag looks familiar, that's because it's the same exact bag as my Cinderella backpack- just in pink. You can get either color from Forever 21 right here. I also brought along my pink polaroid camera, which I've had for almost three years now and I'm still just as obsessed with it as I was when I first got it!
Park: Hollywood Studios
I swear I did actually bring other shoes with me to Disney, but these were just so freaking comfortable (which is a necessity when you walk 6+ miles per day). Rapunzel is one of the younger Princesses, so I went with this cute and youthful skirt. I needed something purple to match her dress, but it turns out finding purple shirts is actually crazy difficult. I found this fuzzy purple sweater at Forever 21 (it's more purple in person) which just about did the trick. I also braided purple yarn into my hair which looked really cool but sadly I didn't get a great pic so I promise to prioritize picture taking next time!
These ears were soooo fun to make because I incorporated a ton of little Rapunzel clues into them! In addition to the purple background, I also included a pink corset bow (like the back of Rapunzel's dress) and a long golden braid! Here's a close up of the braid:
We were there for a full week so I have lots of other outfits that didn't make the cut, but here are some of my favorite pics and outfit pieces from the rest of the trip!
And that's all I have for you this time! I promise to bring my proper camera and take better pictures next time I go :)
FUN STUFF FOR A FUTURE POST: I've been getting lots of random questions through my contact page SO I thought I would answer all of them in a future post! If you have a question you'd like to ask about anything (totally overused phrase here buuut... I'm an open book) then feel free to shoot me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or reach out to me on social media and I'll answer your burning questions in an upcoming post! They can be about my job, hobbies, sports, life, and anything else you can think of. For an added incentive to send me some fun questions- everyone who asks one will be entered into a raffle to win a custom craft from me (letters, paintings, jewelry- you know the drill) so start sending those Q's asap :)
Until next time my Pretty Princesses,
